Thousands of people around the world show their concern by supporting our work. They donate to us, lobby their governments for change, fundraise and occasionally abseil off very tall buildings.
That’s not all
They raft down rapids in India, trek up mountains in Scotland and run through the streets of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. These intrepid adventurers have an exhilarating time and raise money that will transform the lives of poor and hungry people.
Why do they do it?
I’ll let Aoife Magee tell you; Aoife did the Tri-adventure Challenge India:
Concern works with some of the world's poorest and most vulnerable people. The work they carry out is amazing and I thought that if I could be part of that by raising money, why not? On a personal level, I wanted to prove to myself that I could complete a challenge like this, because I knew it would be difficult.
Local and exotic
Not all our charity events are in exotic places though. Your community is really important to us. So, you can also volunteer to organise events where you live. We have a dedicated legion of volunteers who do magnificent community work. Join them.
But there are few things more tempting than the whiff of a far-flung destination. Our most inspiring events take place in the countries we work in: Uganda, Kenya and India to name a few.
And of course
We’re all abseiling down buildings and climbing up mountains for a very good reason – helping people trapped in grinding poverty. All the money you raise supports Concern’s work in these countries.
